Funded by the European Union (EU), Lifelong Learning and Youth Programs have been carried out by Turkish National Agency successfully from 2007 to 2013. The new program called Erasmus+ will be effective from 2014 to 2020 and also be carried out by the Center for European Union Education and Youth Programs under the name of Turkish National Agency. Recognition of Study and Internship Mobility:
The ECTS credits awarded to students at partner universities can be directly transferred to IAU. For the credits other than ECTS, partner universities will be asked to provide IAU with either (1) work load of the students in terms of hours or (2) a formulation to translate them in to ECTS. If either of the pre-stated cannot be provided, IAU will indicate the ECTS credits of the equivalent courses (as shown in the LA prepared before the mobility) which students will be exempted from at IAU.
For incoming mobility, IAU provides full recognition for credits completed automatically by submission of transcript/ confirmation of participation on the proviso that learning/training agreement is respected. Original code, name, credit of courses and university name are indicated on transcript/Diploma Supplement (DS). After mobility, incoming students are provided with transcript (indicating ECTS grades/credits) produced by an automation system.
Linguistic Support for Outgoing Mobility:
Student applicants are required to prove proficiency in language of instruction of partner either by submitting an exam score or taking the exams at IAU. Before mobility, successful applicants are provided with language courses free of charge: either English or German. They are also encouraged to participate in EILC’s, language courses at partner universities the semester.
Linguistic Support for Incoming Mobility:
Turkish language courses at all levels can be offered, depending on the number of incoming students.
